About Us

We are The Neighborhood Church International!  We acknowledge that our current world is quickly deteriorating, however, this does not mean that we should stand idly by watching it happen.  We have a simply purpose for being here, and that is to "Put the 'Neighbor' back in the 'Hood' with the love of Jesus Christ." Our message has evolved to..."Where LOVE is ALIVE from the NEIGHBORHOOD to the NATIONS!"

It is in Mark 12 that we find Jesus simplifying church for us. When asked which commandment had priority, His response was…"The first of all the commandments is: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.  And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.'  This is the first commandment.  And the second, like it, is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'  There is no other commandment greater than these."

In addition, before ascending to heaven Jesus gave the following instructions, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8

So, in obedience with Jesus, we aim to share the gospel and love of Jesus Christ, LOCALLY (Jerusalem/Judea), NATIONALLY (Samaria), INTERNATIONALLY (To the ends of the earth).

LOVE GOD

Jesus made it clear that loving God should be our #1 priority. As my Sunday School teacher used to say, "Put God first, last and always." Jesus also told us how to put Him first. He says to love God with everything we got! There should be no area of our lives in which He does not reign.

LOVE YOURSELF

Most people miss this point, but Jesus does say, "Love your neighbor as you love yourself." We believe that we can only love others out of the capacity of love we have for ourselves. Life can be cruel and so can people. As a result, many have very low views of themselves. God's love can restore your love for yourself!

LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR

In Luke 10 a lawyer asked Jesus, "Who is my neighbor?" Jesus answers by sharing a parable we know as the Good Samaritan. Sure, Jesus describes our neighbor but He also shows us how to be a good neighbor. As a matter of fact at the end of the parable, Jesus' question to the lawyer was "Who was the Neighbor to him that fell among thieves?" While we are arguing over who our neighbors are and making up rules to love them, Jesus is simply concerned with us being good Neighbors.
